Pope's Road Car Park

Pope's Road multi-story car park, the one behind the police station, is closed.  Its owner and operator, LB Lambeth, have not said when they expect to reopen the facility, if ever.

We can tell you that a survey by structural engineers just before Christmas 2009 concluded that the car park should be sealed off in order to be made safe. It was promptly shut, with talk of it reopening in a couple of months. It's still shut.

But starting from June 2nd 2010 a couple of dozen free short-term parking bays will be available on Brixton Station Road (from Popes Road to Gresham Road) and in Valentia Place.
